At Focus North East Community Interest Company, our vision is for all people in the North East to experience equality of opportunity to develop in their career.
Our mission is to support potentially marginalised people in the North East to feel happier and more successful at work. We will do that by delivering a range of inspiring personal and professional development initiatives and also helping local businesses to develop engaging people strategies, which focus on employee wellbeing and performance.
Our work prioritises support for those who’ve had time off for life events such as parental leave, carers leave, absence due to mental or physical ill health or those returning to work after retirement……We’re passionate about helping people get more enjoyment and fulfilment from their careers and determined that people won’t be disadvantaged following periods of absence from work.

Skills Development
To deliver personal and professional development programmes which build essential skills and promote emotional and social wellbeing, to help people return to work confidently and progress in their career.
Strategy Development
To support organisations to develop engaging people strategies, to improve wellbeing and performance and better support people upon their return to work following absence.
As a community interest company (not for profit), we’re committed to investing in initiatives which benefit potentially marginalised people in the North East. We’ll endeavour to offer our services through grant funding wherever possible and have a range of resources and learning materials to suit different budgets.
